Living Sustainably
“For humans to live sustainably, the Earth’s resources must be used at a rate at which they can be replenished. However, there is now clear scientific evidence that humanity is living unsustainably, and that an unprecedented collective effort is needed to return human use of natural resources to within sustainable limits.” On Sustainablity – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This quote from wikipedia is the unfortunate truth. If we did respect the earth more, than everything would be better. WE need to learn how to live with the earth, not on the earth. We have so many luxuries that we now feel that we can not live without them. We need to start decreasing our luxuries and begin increasing our respect for the Earth. We need to start separating luxuries from necessity. Respecting our Earth would mean to lower our consumption of things such as when we take showers, cut-down forests by clear-cutting, and the way we build up trash. We need to change our thinking about trash and begin thinking more of recycling and reusing. If we do this we will begin to see that everything has use. We are just in the beginning, but there is more to go. But the more of us that get on board with this, the more Earth there is for the rest of us.
